DAVID  B. GELFARB  joined the firm in 1993 and was named a partner in  2014.

Since 1986, David has represented individuals, families, and businesses in a wide variety of areas. In the area of litigation and dispute resolution, he handles contract, commercial, partnership, shareholder, real estate, mechanic's lien, employment, and intellectual property matters.

David practices in state and federal courts and before arbitrators and mediators.  David also has an active practice representing homeowner associations, condominiums, and co-ops, in day-to-day areas including vendor relations and contracts, working with management companies, counseling on issues arising with homeowners and elections, and, where necessary, going to Court.

David actively works clients in the areas of business planning, municipal and local government law (including before Boards of Trustees, Zoning Boards of Appeal and Planning Boards), and not-for-profit law. He also represents developers in filing Offering Plans and representing them before the New York State Department of Law's Real Estate Finance Bureau.

In addition to his association with the firm, David is active in public service. He served as an elected member of the Westchester County Legislature for 6 years, including as Chairman of the Labor, Parks, Planning and Housing Committee and as a Rye Town Councilman for 4 years. David is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and Boston  University Law School, cum laude. David also served as President and Treasurer of the Bellefair Homeowners Association, a 261unit homeowners association in Rye Brook.   

Currently, David is a member of the Town/Village of Harrison, New York Planning Board. The Planning Board is responsible for reviewing and approving Subdivisions, Site Plans, Special Exception Uses and Wetland Permits. David is also a member (and former Vice Chair) of the Westchester County Airport Advisory Committee and a Trustee of Congregation Kenereth Teferes Israel in Port Chester, New York. In 2004, David received a certificate of appreciation from the American Trial Lawyers Association for outstanding service to individuals and families who sought compensation from the September 11th Victims Compensation  Fund.
